Coloring

This image began with a sketch that I drew a couple weeks ago. The sketch was mainly line art with a minimal amount of colors. Today I decided to take the plunge and really color it in.

This is my latest drawing and it's more of my usual style. It was fun to draw and I really like the hand ... or should I say the finger?

Holes Design

This was fun to draw. First I sketched the toes in my sketch pad. Then I scanned the very rough copy. Next I traced and colored them in Corel plus I added the jeans. Finally I transferred it to Photoshop and saved as a jpeg. In this sketch, I tried to contrast my usual palette of muted colors with the bold blue shade of the jeans. I even added a print to the cuff of the jeans. Prints are something I don't usually do, but I figured I'd try something different so I wouldn't always be drawing in circles.

Cat

Today was a a long day. I started sketching this collage and it took me forever. I kept re-designing it over and over again. Usually I only draw one image and so I'm able to finish a lot faster. But there were a lot of lines and little lines in this one. I also had trouble saving in the right format so that the colors would stay true...They didn't, but I was at least satisfied with this one. The real collage is a lot larger, but I shrunk it for this page because it "weighed so much." Usually I just draw things out of my head, but this sketch was about a real web site( Hey Monkey!), so I wanted to --at the least --represent the creator...who by the way was nice enough to feature my main blog sketchblogs.com on her site. Yea this was a lot of work, but it was worth it since I wanted to return the favor in a special artsy way.

SBOD-- Too

My newest category is called SBOD which stands for Sketch BLog of the Day -- Drawing Process Log. This is where I will write about the daily (or almost daily) sketch of the day. I will include the 5 ws and the h----- who? what? when? where? why? and how? regarding the sketch on my main blog...sketchblogs dot com. I have a writing process log too-- that will detail the writing process for the entry that goes with that particular sketch.

How I got "Creamed"

Today the words were lacking and I only posted about two sentences on my main blog---Sketch Blog of the Day. But I did have fun drawing this tube of face cream...Made the 2 sentences worth their weight in gold!

How I Got this Stamp

This is supposed to be a process log (I think) about what I'm drawing as well as some random drawings pasted here and there. As you can see (All ten of you-- Ha!) so far I've only posted a few.. a very few randoms... especially considering that I've been blogging here for a little over a month.

The good news is, I have finally found a style that will work for me and my pictures here on the web. Now to the longer version ... of how it all started...

More Flavor Please!

I tried to paste this picture as a sidebar image, but the shrunk version has way less imapct than the original... You see, the more I shrink my pictures, the less "flava" they have.
