Today I'm starting a new project and I happily dub thee 200 less THINGs. And I'm ridding the four corners of my room, my house, my yard of 200 pieces of stuff formerly known as "I bought this cause I liked it---at the time---And its time has passed." And for the next ten weeks I will pass the time by de-cluttering until I am at negative 200. I will post an update Every Thursday listing what I was able to part with. ...10...20...30...40...and so on and so on and so on... And now I pass this on to you... And if you would like to join me, just leave a comment so we can minus the things in our space---together. Starting with this --year old (at least) -- tube of lotion with about two dollops of "I can't squeeze this out --So why am I keeping it?" cream ...... Here I go. Oh, and please join my cheerleading squad and help cheer me on!

o-n-e spells one t-w-o equals two and so on and so on and so on...

Ebay! seriously. When I need some extra money, I have a "garage sale" there. Ok, maybe they won't buy your partially used tube of lotion, but they'll buy your CDs, old paperbacks, stacks of magazines, clothes, etc. And the rest goes to charity.
Do you know of FlyLady - http://www.flylady.net/ ? They have a thing going where you post how many pounds of stuff you get rid of (there's a little equation on the site how to figure the pounds - you don't have to weigh it all if you don't want). Kinda fun site all around.
Good luck!!

Hey thanks Liora, Fly Lady is definitely a place I need to visit...I even saw the word de-clutter on there. About Ebay, I was thinking about adding that to my original post but I've never ebayed anything ( and didn't want to get my facts wrong)so I was hoping someone would clue me in. You make it sound so easy..so I guess I'll have to check it out. Thanks!

next week i am joining you. i have a couple days off from work. and theres gonna be a major dumping of things.
the ebay thing is way cool too. theres a lot of CDs i am going to try to get onto the mac/ipod so that i can just get rid of the additional clutter of CDs.

Isn't the best feeling, when you get rid of stuff! Everything looks and feels organized. I am planning on a big clean up in the spring!

How fun! I want to try...
TRY being the operative word :)

I am trying to do a little of this myself. I agree with Kristal when I say "a little" being the operative word! We just moved in a new house and a couple of weeks ago I got rid of SIX HUGE garbage bags of juck. Now to tackle that evil beast I call my closet......
