Today was an outside day. Balmy in a below-fifty sort of way. On the trail and at the park I saw a ton of walkers and joggers. And I wished I was out there too...instead of sitting behind the wheel of my car. But there was no way I could convince myself to go face to face with the chill. Even though it was in the forties, my skin couldn't take the cold.
My skin is so thin-- like a layer of ice atop a pond and my blood isn't thick enough ... Maybe I should eat more potatoes...or slip on those long johns I bought in preparation for a day such as this. In reality I am loathe to leave my comfy spot in front of the computer...curled up like a cat I am... basking in its warm glow...waiting for the seventies...and going nowhere soon.

Cool sketch! I wouldn't brave the cold either...

last weekend i tried to go for a run in the cold. it was kinda warm out, mid 40's. i ran a mile. then sat at starbucks and warmed up. then walked the mile back home. my lungs yelled at me for the rest of the day. so no more running outside when its below 50. no sir. nope. not happening again.
today is 14 degrees with a -5deg windchill... certainly not trying that now!
