Coffee Anyone?

Today is Rant Day and what better way to rant than with a friend. We went for coffee... not Starbucks... at a local shop. We sat around for a little over an hour and cleaned out the week. It was nice to just kick it in a cozy little coffee house -- the aroma, the chatter, the newspapers, the people. Extreme brunch i.e. more breakfast than lunch.. extremely light on the meal.. heavy on the chatting. Okay so here's the deal.. Eavesdropping on my own conversation.. my side anyway...
At the counter...
Mocha.
Large.
Whipped cream.
Is that chocolate scone low carb?
Not! Ha!
(We ate it anyway.)
After--
we split it.
At the table...
Can't believe it's February... almost March.
It was warmer than expected.
The week flew.
Bye.
We gotta walk.
Soon.
People are rude.
Quite.
Dogs are good buddies.
Sometimes.
Later...
This mocha is yummy.
Scone? What scone?
Crumbs? Who me?
Cell phone.. tones.
A meeting?
Soon.
Checking the watch.
See-- time flies.
Gotta go.
Same time next week!
With that we parted.. then me and my mocha headed for the hills, down the long dusty salt laden.. muddy.. almost snow melted.. road highway. Still ranting as I went.

I love going to a local coffee shop here downtown; the atmosphere is wonderful. It's one of those few places where one can actually sit and talk, play cards, read the paper or listen to the house band (on weekends). I haven't been there for awhile and your post made me realize it's time for another visit (you know where I'll be tomorrow afternoon!).
