141-160

Copyright Copyright 2004 by sketchblogs.com All rights reserved Yesterday I decided to clean out the garage. And we have one of those garages you know "where the car don't fit." And it's a wonder why, with all the stuff piled high high up. And I can't even hardly remember the latest on my list of 200 less Things because I was in a fury in my tilt to just rid myself of things unused. And I don't even want to think about what I got rid of because I might miss it. Really. But this is something that I have wanted to tackle for a long time and so I guess.. it goes. And I like K and Amy's idea of buy 1 get rid of 3 although I'm seriously thinking mine is more like a 1 to 5 ratio. And I'm still not anywhere near finished, because throwing out stuff (stuffs 141-160) that I know I don't want was the way easy part (not really), but actually sorting through things that give me a second thought will take some time, to think ... but I hope I can be finished by the end of the weekend. Although somehow.. I doubt it.

131-140

Copyright 2004 by sketchblogs.com All rights reserved Since I've been cleaning up this week, I've found a lot of useless things like the laser printer that I haven't used since the ink ran out. But there's no way I'm getting rid of that, even if I can't find its adapter plug. After all, it did take two years to find a replacement cartridge. Besides my 3 in 1 scanner, printer, copier combo cost less than hunting down and then forking over the cash for a new one. . of those ink things. So I have no impetus to get off my Uggs and find its adapter. Hopefully once I'm finished rifling through all this clutter, it too will rear its shockingly awful head. So 131-140 went like this when I found a new stash of old "you name it.. I paid for it" bills under my bed right next to the printer (I think). They were garbage and they are gone. The latest trash on my list of 200 less Things!

121-130

Copyright 2004 by sketchblogs.com All rights reserved When the week started, I didn't know what I was going to get rid of. 121-130 was going to be hard. Then a couple of days ago I found a bag of old bills, letters, papers. Blah! You name it and if it was made of paper then it was in there. So this week suddenly became easy cause I picked through that mess and found more than 20 pieces of trash which make up the latest on my list of 200 less Things!

101-120

Copyright 2004 by sketchblogs.com All rights reserved This week clothes, clothes, clothes comprise the latest on my list of 200 less Things! 101-120 started with some old socks plagued with holes. Copyright 2004 by sketchblogs.com All Rights ReservedAnd I hope I don't ever have to resort to sporting worn socks again. Unless they are my faves.. then maybe I'll mend them. Mend them..Ha! An event that I am sure will never happen no matter how hard I try. But at least once I get rid of all my useless clutter I can easily find socks sans holes anyway.Copyright 2004 by sketchblogs.com All Rights Reserved Also saying goodbye to.. Shirts, tanks, pants, and socks that are old and faded, unworn, or just plain out of style.. are out the door. Too small, too faded, too icky is too gone. You'd have to get me in a straight jacket to wear some of my old things and I wonder what in the world I was thinking when I put the cash down. Guess the cash found a new home and so will these things. Let's hope.

81-100

Copyright 2004 by sketchblogs.com All rights reserved And I can't believe I'm Half Way there.. Has it been five weeks already since I started this thing? So here's the latest on my list of 200 less Things! Up to 81-100 and this was easy. Cause I cleaned out the pantry and for me it was more like a bag..treee. Yes. Right. I had so many bags swished up inside each other... and I was like "Did I really go shopping that many times???"... so 81-87 are below average bags that I should have parted with after I took the stuff out the bag.. but I do have this hangup about packaging and designs, and sometimes I keep bags just in case I need to store something (like more of my clutter maybe). Ha!

88-100 is food stuffs that I am sure were expired, rancid, dried out, or just plain taking up space. I figure if I haven't cooked and eaten it by now and it's like been here for a while, then time for it to leave. I'm not one to throw away food, and you could tell if you saw the "before" of my pantry... but I did it cause it had to be done. And now I can see what organized looks like.

On a dumb note, I noticed that I had several of certain products, I guess cause I bought them and intended to cook them, never did.. them moved to the back.. and I forgot them was there.. so of course I bought more.. of them. Guess I have enough green beans to last all spring.

I can feel true space moving in and even closed doors like the pantry reek of organized energy and this week I'm on a roll cause I'm ready to clean up everything. Must be spring around the corner. And I hear a cheer.

Where my cheerleaders at?

61-80

Copyright 2004 by sketchblogs.com All rights reserved Here's the latest on my list of 200 things! And 61-80 goes like this... More of the same "minus game" subtracting some more old cards & letters and fresh, new junk mail. Plus some cute plastic ice cubes in red, white, and blue, just sitting in the silverware drawer minding their own business and definitely not frozen. After the latest purge, I even cleaned out the fridge.. and just in time for trash day-- tomorrow.

Here's the latest on my list of 200 things that have got to go!
41-60 things
So I'm pretty notorious for keeping everything. Including just about every single stitch of correspondence I've ever received, envelopes included. So today I'm getting rid of 20 pieces of old mail. Good-bye 41-60.

21 through 40

Here's the latest on my list of 200 things I'm getting rid of.
Apparently any 200 I can find. Here we go.

21-40 things

  • 1 pale yellow chipped bowl, 1 lid minus its lidee

  • 3 old toothbrushes, 1 broken ruler

  • 1 broken candle holder that I meant to glue back together again... like one year ago

  • 1 tube of "totally too golden" bronzer

  • 1 copper colored make-up pencil and I still can't figure out if it's for my lips or my eyes

  • a slab of papers... and I do mean a slab

  • 2 old coffee cups

  • 3 more tumblers

  • 3 more pens

  • and a couple of old notebooks way past their prime

Definitely harder than items 1-20, and I think the process will get even harder as the list goes on. But at least my box finally has a purpose. And at least I still have my closet to rummage through while I'm working my way toward number 60 and the big two double 0.

This is the box.

Here's where I store my things...Eventually this box will be number 200 on my list... the last of my things that I intend to get rid of. For now.

This week I started in the make-up drawers. It hurt because to me make-up is art. Anyway...Here we go... and starting with ...
* that year old tube of lotion that is 98% lotion free
*2 broken combs
*1 tube of cheap mascara. cheap.
*1 less bottle of magenta fingernail polish
*1 highlighter that no longer does its job. Destroy it.
*1 chap stick that does more waxing than de-chapping
(like my lips are skis..P-lease!)
*1 lip gloss which is "so over with" I don't even know why I bought it
*1 smushed lipstick... so smushed that it has no shape and even if it did, I don't think I'd want it anywhere near my lips anytime soon
*1 red lip liner. red. I never wear red.
*1 make-up sponge probably from some long since trashed make-up that was not my color, but of course I didn't know that until it was bought and paid for and making me look like a troll.
*1 Christmas bulb, dull and scratched.
*1 empty cartridge of ink for my printer. Which I found inside its original packaging. Hmm I wonder if I was trying to trick myself...Weird... Or maybe it was trying to trick me... Too Weird... Or maybe I kept it so when I went to buy more I'd know the make... Yeah the make.
*3 ink pens sans ink
*2 dried out art pens. Ouch That one hurt. Twice.
*1 small plastic tumbler too uninspiring to even describe. here.
and 2 bowls made from the cheapest plastic... ever.

Whew...that was hard.. to get rid of stuff even if it has no real purpose in my life other than it's original intent. I would publish pictures, but believe me there is nothing pretty here. Nothing in this box is photogenic except the box itself... So feast your eyes.

Looking forward to numbers 21-40...I think.

But I gotta lau-gh..."

Take it a-way boys...
Take it a-way."

History of the Box

Copyright 2004 by sketchblogs.com All rights reservedBack during Thanksgiving I ordered a turkey dinner from a local grocery store. This is the box that it came in. Why in the world is this box still in my house 2 months later? The answer is...

Copyright 2004 by sketchblogs.com All rights reserved

I like the packaging.
The design reminds me of pen and ink in a wood cut kind of way. And it caught my fancy. My eyes liked looking at it, so I kept it. Yet somewhere in the back of my mind, I knew this was not a good idea for a clutterer such as myself to add yet another treasure to my growing booty. Of course reality didn't stop me... it never does. So at the end of my project alas I shall face reality and throw it too away... hopefully along with my tendency to keep... on keeping.. on.
