Most Improved

Copyright 2004 by sketchblogs.com All Rights Reserved
Today a quick update on my resolutions. And so far I've done well.
1. Ironically, all the pretty papers are beautifying a landfill... somewhere off in the wide blue yonder. If that is even.. possible?
The tree hit the curb, splashed pine needles all over the place, and has since moved on.
2. I haven't gone shopping... Well not really...
Well not in a "We gone turn this ma-tha out " sort of way.
So..... "Show-me the mon-ey".
3. I've only been to Starbucks twice! Granted it was two days straight... but I'm still in the negative column on total for the month... and the month is almost history.
4. I always write and draw ---so I don't even know why I made that resolution. But... just in case I decide to park in front of the TV for 2 or more consecutive shows-- somebody stop me. bUT dON'T ASK ME ABOUT THE COMPUTER.
5. I'm trying hard to deal with the clutter so I started my little project called 200 less THINGs. Hope I don't put my foot in my mouth. Talk about cluttered.
And yes, I did find those d*mn stamps.
6. My skin is in..side most of the time, so its mega-dry, but at least it's not cold. Hair is workin it. Let's see how long that lasts.
7. I continue to low carb .. and .. WoW it's a habit.. and .. I haven't touched one donut. I looked, I salivated, I rolled my buggy on.
8. Exercise is the one category that continues to haunt me.. but it's sooo not my fault. Just way too cold. But I'll get right on it... in about 20 degrees.
9. And I don't think I'm gonna win for "non- procrastinator of the year"
But hey--maybe I'll get "Most Improved!"
........................................
Somebody rant with me... Cause I'm curious as to how other blogospherians have done with their resolutions. Come On... Hit me with your best shot.

Connections

Today I was thinking about all the cell phone people... and I am one of them too. Talking heads lost in another world. So simple to connect with the outside from any spot on the planet to any place at any time. If----you've got a good plan! And how easy to store numbers, hit redial, text messaging, send photos.... Smile! A clear copy of your face is headed straight into cyber space.

And my mind wandered back to that space in time when a long distance phone call was flooded with static... like a fading radio station. And to that archaic creature now on the edge of extinction... the phone booth. An almost nearly soundproof stall shaped like an outhouse --with windows and a folding door and most likely minus a phonebook cause it was lifted by some prehistoric information junkie or utterly cluttered soul.

Back to now where I wonder if those cell phone people even consider the unseen world flowing about the body like a matrix... invisible to the naked eye but hovering none the less. And I wonder if we consider how lucky we are to connect through the miles in a millisecond with the clarity of the sounds in a rabbit's ear.

Out There Too

Copyright 2004 by sketchblogs.com All rights reserved
Today was an outside day. Balmy in a below-fifty sort of way. On the trail and at the park I saw a ton of walkers and joggers. And I wished I was out there too...instead of sitting behind the wheel of my car. But there was no way I could convince myself to go face to face with the chill. Even though it was in the forties, my skin couldn't take the cold.

My skin is so thin-- like a layer of ice atop a pond and my blood isn't thick enough ... Maybe I should eat more potatoes...or slip on those long johns I bought in preparation for a day such as this. In reality I am loathe to leave my comfy spot in front of the computer...curled up like a cat I am... basking in its warm glow...waiting for the seventies...and going nowhere soon.

Bad Stamp Day

Okay so today I'm having another bad stamp day! And this is so not funny... I'm beginning to feel like a madman---woman---troll. Now I know I saw those stamps --somewhere-- the other day and I wonder why I didn't immediately scoop them up -- stuff them in my desk drawer or slide them inside my purse. Sometimes I wish I could slide inside my purse. Hmmm... but it's way more cluttered in there... Anyway I'm not stopping until I find them. I just hope my room isn't ten times worse when I'm finished! A Girl Named Cat

Copy Right 2004 by sketchblogs.com All Rights Reserved This week sketchblogs.com is the featured site on Hey Monkey! When I found out, I was so excited. So in lieu of a thank you note I decided to sketch a collage about Hey Monkey's creator... A girl named Cat (A.KA. Cathy). She loves to knit, owns a hedgehog named Otis, and is quite the budding photographer. It's one of my favorite reads. Check it out!

Stamping Mad!

Caution! You are about to enter the "me--me--me" Zone.

D*mn stamps! Where are they-- when I need them?

I just bought a sheet of stamps the other day AND of course right as I was about to mail some slow moving bills, (I'm talking turtle here) my stamps were playing a naughty little game of hide and seek.

Better chances are, they were lost somewhere in my little forest of clutter...And couldn't find their way back home.

So--after shelling out thirty-seven cents times four-- for more, a brilliant little idea popped into that pretty little head of mine (or is that pretty cluttered head of mine?)

...Anyway back to my brilliant idea... That's right--You guessed it-- Put me on my own line of stamps! ... me--me--me... Why, if only the Postal Service plastered my mug on a stamp-- I know I'd never loose it...Who knows, I might even start a collection!

I had no idea they made pink Uggs.... Baby Pink!
They have slippers and slides.
And short shoe-boots too. Whew!
